Sure, many people wonder which way the wind is blowing in the real estate markets across the country. That's healthy... being stuck in fear is not.
It is imperative to find ways to make your money work harder than you do. The Stock market is down 700 points this week, bond yields are down, so called high interest savings are paying less than inflation... what to do?
Well the bottom line is, when you truly do real estate investment correctly, and focus on long term fundamentals, in any market conditions, you create cash flow (that helps provide you a buffer in an economic storm) and capital gains which are taxed at a much lower rate.
Ask yourself, do you look at your property investments with a microscope (reacting emotionally day to day to every headline) or a telescope (focusing on long term fundamentals and your long term goals)?
Using a microscope will get you nothing but a headache and lack of sleep (and poor investment returns), a telescope view smoothes out the ups and downs, allows you to sleep through the inevitable storms and helps you be a long time winner.
Study the fundamentals, use the telescope view, pick your markets well, invest with positive cash flow... and sleep at night doing it.
